A state judge has ruled that film director John G. Avildsen engaged in "extreme and outrageous conduct" in seeking for eight years to recover child support from his former lover, only to drop the claim on the eve of trial. Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Shirley Fingerhood, in her decision, published page 25, column 6, held the director of such films as "Rocky" and "The Karate Kid" liable for intentional infliction of emotional distress and malicious prosecution and ordered a hearing on damages. Ann L. Detiere, the attorney for Myroslawa Prystay, said the former model was seeking $1 million on each of her two counterclaims.
